Ive never had a mouse before, but most hamster cages have bars that are to far apart and the mouse could escape. The best thing would be a glass aquarium. They even make things that you put on top of the tank to make it larger, its made out of metal bars, but are spaced close together and are a perfect add on for a mouse cage. but a glass tank is the best choice

Seriously?! No way! They don’t work.Just get a hamster cage from Petco or somewhere like that.If that’s what you were looking for, great. But cages for mice or whatever you have is best because it has room and it looks a lot less cheap than a lunchbox. But that’s just me.

my has mice because her dad breeds them. They normally keep them in a bar cage(bigger ones). They keep the smaller ones in an aquarium, because the tend to get out.

A glass aquarium is the obvious choice, but if you want to get creative you can use a plastic storage tub. Just get a clear one so you can see inside. You have to drill several holes in the sides and lid, and make sure the mouse won’t be able to reach the top and push the lid off. If you have a really deep tub it shouldn’t be a problem. Here’s a link with better instructions:

You can get a solid plastic cage and that works even better I had a mouse and that was what i used. The glass aquarium just sounds crule!!!!!!!!!

Never put a mouse in anything but a mouse cage. Cages for hamsters and rats just don’t work. Hello why would they, they are made for bigger animals so the mouse could easily escape. And never use lunchboxes, you have got to be kidding me. Pet stores sell cages just for mice. You can also use a glass aquarium, about 20 gallons should be OK for 1-3 mice. Glass aquariums have pretty good ventilation and does not absorb smells. Never use a solid plastic cage. The mouse can chew right through it, it does not have good ventilation, and it absorbs smell. Your best option is to get a specialized mouse cage from a pet store. Your second and only other option is a glass aquarium.
